A song for you hijo on your birthday. Que Dios te bendiga. I love you and miss you. Every day that passes is another day that we are closer to being together.
May the good lord be with you
Down every road you roam
And may sunshine and happiness
Surround you when you're far from home
And may you grow to be proud
Dignified and true
And do unto others
As you'd have done to you
Be courageous and be brave
And in my heart you'll always stay
Forever young, forever young
Forever young, forever young
May good fortune be with you
May your guiding light be strong
Build a stairway to heaven
With a prince or a vagabond
And may you never love in vain
And in my heart you will remain
Forever young, forever young
Forever young, forever young
Forever young
Forever young
And when you finally fly away
Ill be hoping that I served you well
For all the wisdom of a lifetime
No one can ever tell
But whatever road you choose
I'm right behind you, win or lose
Forever young, forever young
Forever young ,forever young
Forever young, forever young
For, forever young, forever young

Entry for July 10, 2008 - Psalm 127
Psalm 127
A song of ascents. Of Solomon.
1 Unless the LORD builds the house,
its builders labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city,
the watchmen stand guard in vain.
2 In vain you rise early
and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat—
for he grants sleep to those he loves.
3 Sons are a heritage from the LORD,
children a reward from him.
4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are sons born in one's youth.
5 Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame
when they contend with their enemies in the gate.
Christien, I thank God every day for you being my son. One day soon, he'll judge me worthy enough to be in your life once again. Te estraňo, mi hijo querido.

Christien,
Daddy is still thinking of you and loving you. Just because I am not able to post here every day does not mean that you are not in my heart every day. Que Dios te bendiga, mi hijo.

Entry for May 08, 2008- An Inspirational Story
I was turned onto this story by a sports blog I read, and I couldn't help to cry. The attitude this boy possesses as he stares death straight in the eye is so remarkable and inspirational. There has to be a reason God put this story in my path, and I only hope it touches you in the same way it did me.

Entry for April 17, 2008- Belief
"With every difficulty, you can experience a new level of God’s goodness! You may have had unfair things happen, but remember, all things work together for good when you love the Lord! It doesn’t say that all things are good, but God will turn your test into a testimony."
- Joel Osteen
Funny, but whenever I have needed a little piece of encouragement lately, it has always seem to come. Whatever your belief, "It doesn't matter what you believe. Just believe.”(Sheperd Book-Serenity)
Christien, Daddy loves you and misses you. Portate bien, mi hijo. Tenga fe que estaremos juntos otra vez.

Entry for March 27, 2008 - I miss my son
Anyone who has read this blog knows how I keep praying that one day the good Lord will bless me with the opportunity to see my son again. It has now been 3 1/2 years since I have had any interaction with him. He is 10 years old now. He will be 11 this summer. Certainly, he is too big for me to carry anymore. I just hope he knows that his father does love him and miss him. I would love to be there for his elementary graduation. I'm sorry, but for some reason, his absence in my life has been impacting me a lot more recently.
This song is what pushed me over the edge today and prompted me to write this. The lyrics of the song impacted me deeply. Christien, like the song says, mi hijo, someday, we'll be together. I love you and I miss you. Never doubt or forget that. Someday... soon.
A piece of advise for women out there, if the father wants to be a part of his child's life, let him. Now every situation is different, and sometimes keeping the child away from them is in the child's best interest, but if you are only doing so out of vindictiveness, or to try to exert some control or superiority over the father, that is just wrong! As much as you love your child, using him/her in that manner does nothing but ultimately hurt your child. How can you think that keeping away someone who loves and cherishes your child for your own selfish reasons not be harmful?
Do you want to know the truth? It hurts, ok? It hurts that I haven't been able to see him grow up, to see his report cards, to expose him to my culture an heritage, to take him to the park, to the beach, to hear him say "Happy Father's Day"(for the last 6 years!), to be a father. You have your revenge. Now can you please stop using our child as a pawn, and let him be a part of my an his older brother's life?
