Entry for December 24, 2008- Merry Christmas

As I get ready to head over to my family's Christmas party(We Latinos celebrate on Christmas Eve, in case you didn't know), I think about what Christmas has become. I made the comment earlier today That I am disgusted that everyone has forgotten that the holiday's purpose is to celebrate the arrival of our Savior, Jesus Christ- not to gloat over who was able to get the hottest gift of the year. The gifts should be for the kids, but what e should really do is follow Jesus' example, if not this day then when? We should be kind, loving and thoughtful year-round. Christmas is as good as day as any to start. So Merry Christmas to everyone who reads this. May God guide you and protect you and never forget that He loved us so much that He offered up His only Son as the perfect sacrifice to absolve us of our sins.

Christien, I left a gift for you with Family Services at the courthouse, where we had our visits. I hope you receive it. It was the greatest gift ever given to me, and I hope it helps you as much as it has helped me. Please behave yourself, mi hijo, and I will keep praying that 2009 is better than 2008 for us. I love you son. From all of us on this side of your family, Feliz Navidad to you and the rest of the other side of your family. May our love for you be the bridge that brings us all together as one family under God.

My brain is a mess. I don't want to move back to RI but I can't be a part of my son's life unless I'm there. SW Florida is paradise as far as I am concerned. The high today was in the 70s and I could've gone swimming if I had wished to do so. I left RI because i could no longer trust its legal system. When a system believes lies rather than the truth, it is no longer trustworthy. Since I have left, the ProJo has run 3 articles talking specifically about the problem within the family court system, but I have see no followup on any changes; and yet, I am willing to risk it all for love. Lord, I pray that you watch over him and I pray that the truth is one day known. I am not looking for any retribution. I just want my son.
Christien, please keep being the good boy I know you are, do what is expected of you, and remember- I love you. Time and miles separate us physically, but you have never been gone from my heart. Que Dios te Bendiga, hijo mio.

It has been too long since I have posted an entry. But I just wanted everyone to know that I am still alive. I am looking forward to voting and of being in a state, FL, where it could actually make a difference. One question to all these people blasting Obama for pushing a "Socialist agenda" of sharing the wealth: Do you consider Jesus Christ an evil Socialist, as well? Jesus repeatedly spoke of helping the lesser of the community. When the apostles began preaching the Gospel, all the disciples would share everything they had (Acts 4:32-35), yet according to all of you righteous "Christian" consrvative Republicans, this is wrong? Here's another question for you, how is the current bailout NOT socialism? Maybe you guys should take a look at your own house befoe you throw any stones.

Entry for March 27, 2008 - I miss my son

Anyone who has read this blog knows how I keep praying that one day the good Lord will bless me with the opportunity to see my son again. It has now been 3 1/2 years since I have had any interaction with him. He is 10 years old now. He will be 11 this summer. Certainly, he is too big for me to carry anymore. I just hope he knows that his father does love him and miss him. I would love to be there for his elementary graduation. I'm sorry, but for some reason, his absence in my life has been impacting me a lot more recently.

This song is what pushed me over the edge today and prompted me to write this. The lyrics of the song impacted me deeply. Christien, like the song says, mi hijo, someday, we'll be together. I love you and I miss you. Never doubt or forget that. Someday... soon.




A piece of advise for women out there, if the father wants to be a part of his child's life, let him. Now every situation is different, and sometimes keeping the child away from them is in the child's best interest, but if you are only doing so out of vindictiveness, or to try to exert some control or superiority over the father, that is just wrong! As much as you love your child, using him/her in that manner does nothing but ultimately hurt your child. How can you think that keeping away someone who loves and cherishes your child for your own selfish reasons not be harmful?

Do you want to know the truth? It hurts, ok? It hurts that I haven't been able to see him grow up, to see his report cards, to expose him to my culture an heritage, to take him to the park, to the beach, to hear him say "Happy Father's Day"(for the last 6 years!), to be a father. You have your revenge. Now can you please stop using our child as a pawn, and let him be a part of my an his older brother's life?
